MEA’S TOP BEACH CHOICES EN EL COSTA DEL SOL
El Cañuelo
Where to find it: 13km from the East of Nerja, on the border between Malaga and Granada
The truly magical element to this beautiful beach is the fact that it’s situated in a designated nature reserve and therefore is a protected space. Vehicles are parked at the top of the mountain above and shuttle buses travel to and fro picking up visitors. Alternatively you could decline the shuttle bus and decide to enjoy the picturesque walk!
El Cañuelo is a cove, with shingles rather than sand. The water is something out of this world, crystal clean and clear and also boasts an impressive marine life. This is definitely the place for snorkeling or scuba diving fans!
El Cristo
Where to find it: It’s just beyond Estepona Marina, to the West of the town centre.
Most beaches on the coast face South but not this one. El Cristo faces West which means it’s sheltered by the wind but also gets the most sunshine! You’ll find fine silky sand here, no stones, which is an extra plus. The clear water is also shallow and gradually gets deeper so this is an ideal beach for kids too.
This beach is also made special by the two chiringuitos situated there (Havana Beach and Lolailo), you’ll instantly feel the holiday vibe when you hear the beautiful music being played from both venues.
Funny Beach
Where to find it: Located on the beach side on the main N-340 (Km.184 Cádiz-Málaga), 300 meters from Marbella’s Arch. Look out for the oversized Coca Cola can!
If you love the thrill of fun-filled water activities or water sports, this is definitely the beach for you! The list of activities is endless: karting, jet skiing, parasailing, fly boarding, paddle surfing, to mention just a few!
It’s also a brilliant place for kids, offering bouncy castle rental and a whole lot more!
It’s not the most beautifully aesthetic beach in the world but if you’re looking for an adrenaline packed exciting day, this is where you should be heading!
Nagueles
Where to find it: Found on Marbella´s famous “Golden Mile” along the Paseo Maritimo.
Located in front of the luxury Marbella Club Hotel and Puente Romano, this beach is impressively set by an amazing mountainous backdrop.
This is the place for a bit of fun Celeb spotting so keep your eye out for the rich and famous of Marbella! You will find a lot going here at the Nagueles beach including a big range of chiringuitos to choose from, shops, kiosks and a selection of different activities like pedaloing and surfing!
